How to Deal with Husky Shedding

Updated: Jan 3

Siberian Huskies are double-coated dogs, which means shedding is inevitable, especially during seasonal coat blows in spring and fall. To manage the fur explosion, regular grooming is essential. Brush your Husky 2–3 times a week using an undercoat rake or de-shedding tool to remove loose fur and prevent matting.

Bathing your Husky during shedding season can also help loosen the dead hair, but be sure to use a dog-friendly shampoo and dry them thoroughly. A high-powered pet dryer can be a lifesaver.

Invest in a good vacuum and lint rollers to keep your home fur-free. We vacuum every day. Feeding your Husky a high-quality diet rich in Omega-3 fatty acids promotes a healthy coat and reduces excessive shedding.

Remember, shedding is a natural part of being a Husky owner. With consistent care, you can keep their coat looking great and your home under control.
